Harassment and Workplace Bullying

Published 17 Mar 2015

What constitutes bullying, discrimination or harassment? How should an Employer or manager respond if these are present within their workplace?

Failure to respond appropriately may place the Employer in breach of their obligations under the Health and Safety in Employment Act so it's vital that an Employer is firstly aware of potential workplace issues and secondly, how to respond.

WorkSafe NZ released their guidelines in 2014 based on the Australian model. We now provide a practical guide for Employers including the policy, the system and sample letters to use for a procedurally correct and robust investigation and disciplinary meetings.
