Employers Toolbox Health & Safety Training Revalidation

Published 19 Feb 2025

The rescheduling of staff training with the Employers Toolbox just got easier with training 'revalidation' periods.

In the Health & Safety module of the Employers Toolbox you have the facility to store your staff training records. This is an easy and convenient way to retain, manage and organise your training requirements and records.

Until now in the Toolbox you would have to add a specific date of expiry to each training record in order for the platform to alert you to retrain when due. A new facility now introduces training revalidation periods which automatically achieves this without the need for you to specifically tell each training record the date of expiry for that training.

Our recommended best practice for training records in the Employers Toolbox is to use the 'Master Training' facility. By creating and using master training it creates uniformity across your training records facilitating functionality like training revalidation and consistency of reporting like the training matrix report.

It's far quicker to create a master training record and then just assign that to staff when needed, rather than have to re-write a whole training record every time someone undertakes that training individually.

The new feature of revalidation indicates how long the training remains valid for in months. The system will automatically alert the user when that period is expiring provided the training record has been created through a master training record with a specified revalidation period.

This revalidation information flows through into the Training Matrix report making a very useful report frequently used and required for compliance in the construction industries. The training matrix report also downloads to Excel format enabling you to customise it as needed.
