Government removes last COVID restrictions

Over 3 years since COVID-19 first hit NZ, the NZ Government has finally removed the last of COVID-19 restrictions.

As from midnight tonight (Monday 14th Aug 2023) you are no longer required by law to isolate for 7 days if you contract COVID-19, nor wear face masks in health care facilities.

The Leave Support Subsidy (LSS) to help employers pay staff to isolate is also being closed down from 15th August. For more information on the LSS please see the MSD website here: www.workandincome.govt.nz/covid-19/employer-support/leave-support-scheme/index.html
