The Government has added prison staff to the new mandatory vaccination order. This will apply to all staff who work in prisons including contracted providers, psychologists and health service staff, but exempts visiting families and legal advisors.
As with the health care and disability sectors prison workers will fall under the December 1st 2021 deadline meaning first doses need to be administered by October 30th - only 10 days time.
The Public Health Order which would provide exact details about the vaccine mandate is still yet to be released by Government.
